I have a set of commercial DVDs (Ghost in the Shell, polish edition)
(all of them are reported as unscrambled, or not encrypted, by
libdvdcss2, which I do have installed).
When I try to watch them in totem (either by

When starting up, xmoto goes fullscreen and tries to change screen mode.
After that my monitor is unable to display anything, and I cannot even
close xmoto because I don't see controls. (killing xmoto by ssh works).

Same effect on Thinkpad X61s (Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100).
Blank black screen with just mouse pointer visible after closing and
opening the lid back (no suspend necessary), happens maybe once in 20
times. Input works—i can move mouse pointer, also cursor changes when
over a text field (

I can reproduce this problem fairly regularly on a certain game inside
wine (and nowhere else) on my up-to-date Debian Sid box. If there's any
solution/patch to test and there's any benefit in testing it on a non-
Ubuntu system, I volunteer to help.
