Using linaro's natty daily snapshot for headless dated 1201 and the
hwpack for omap3 dated 1201 and using a linaro-media create that was
branched on 11-23 (but with no local changes) my beagle board C4 boots.
tty doesn't work but serial cons is fine:

That was me ... I have an microSD / SD adapter, using the netbook-efl
image, booted on the C4 ... moved the microSD card over to the Beagle Xm

Thanks much for the test image and bug report. I'm able to recreate the
issue locally.
In my case it's not crashing, I get an error message on the save that
indicates "Maximum supported image dimension is 65500"
I have used jpegtran (a command line tool part of libjpeg-turbo-tools
and rotated the

turbo8 instead it's from http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~vcs-
imports/eog/trunk/view/head:/jpegutils/transupp-8a.c which is a file
that was copied some years back from the libjpeg project.
Why this app has internal copies of these
further in jtransform_adjust_parameters (which is in the old jpeg
copied code, not in the libjpeg-turbo library)
it makes a call to transpose_critical_parameters
Before that function, it's fine, after the noted fields jpeg_width &
jpeg_height in dstinfo have garbage in it.

while trying to run some OpenGL / OpenGL ES2 code.
(the GL messages here is due to libwaffle loading both GLES and GL at the same
time.. yes it's correct, this all works on intel and it should work on ARM

needed by OpenGL but it's not something that TI ever provided. Still X

Using 20110706 build of linaro ubuntu-desktop LEB + panda-x11 hwpack of
the same date, selecting restart from the pull down menus crashes the
machine:

This just showed up when running the ALIP image dated 03102011 on a
beagle C4 using the omap3-x11 hwpack dated 03102011.
The moment the mapdss DISPC error: GFX_FIFO_UNDERFLOW, disabling GFX
unsuprisingly the graphical session disappeared from ALIP.

The linaro-ubuntu-desktop image does not emit it's start up sound nor
was I able to get audio out of Rhythm box.
This was using the 03102011 hwpack_omap3-x11 and the linaro-ubuntu-
desktop image dated 03102011

On my Xm. I booted up the alip image from the current beta.
I tested out my power speakers. Other devices are able to power them.
I have tried aplay. Nothing.
I installed the xfce-mixer upped the various nobs and selections across
the board.

By root_wait=5, does that mean it'll wait at most 5 seconds for the
rootfs before failing should the root fs not be found? Or am I perhaps
confusing rootwait? I see rootwait in Documentation/kernel-
parameters.txt but not root_wait.
I must confess I'm not a fan of adding to the boot time.

As such when updating the linaro-meta pkg with
germinate-update-metapackage --bzr
with an u

Xfce "Applications" menu is truncated in panel on Maver
If by awkward you mean to say that PPAs can no longer be used with
germinate when the seed uses more than just the main component.
For linaro, the impact that I see is we'll have to either fork germinate
(yuck!) or setup our own archive for content that is now found in PPAs.
It would seem the use
With the genius of Steve Langasek, we've (well he) authored a proposed
fix. I'm still testing it at the moment, but none the less I'll link the
code here to the bug. You might find it acceptable.
