I have a similar problem. I haven't any floppy and I reinstalled from
scratch the Amd64 version (I had the 32 bit version before) of Lucid and
it seemed to work out until now. Suddendly, after a reboot, the system
came to use 1,8 Gb of RAM where it used about 300 Mb before, and the CPU
load rose fr
That happened long ago, and I don't use Ubuntu anymore. Do as you feel.
