Firestarter GUI doesn't start using its launcher and if I try to start it by
terminal, in answer I have this:

I have hte exact same situation. I upgraded to Gutsy RC after some
problems. I am using Kubuntu, but had to use the ubuntu way to perform
the upgrade. Now it constantly shows there's a new version available
even if I have the latest packages and can successfully update them.

Thanks json684. I've had this problem ever since Feisty was released
(that's when I started using Feisty) and now I solved it with unchecking
the "Mount as user". Thank you so much for this info! What a simple
solution for this problem :)

Nope, I recreated the profile in order to solve this problem and never
got back to using the old one. If necessary I can possible still find
the old profile and check if it still has this problem.

Binary package hint: hotkeys
This has happened since kubuntu edgy. Sometimes on startup hotkeys just
doesn't start or apparently starts and crashes immediately. I cannot say
if this is due to using using a hotkey it controls while it is still
starting or if it is just in gene

If no window is open and you activate Kompose (say, move your mouse to
the correct corner) you see an empty desktop with no (clear) way of how
to exit from this situation. Yes, the Esc-key does it but how can you
know this? Actually Kompose is use
