I'm not sure this is really a wishlist enhancement request. In Update
Manager right now, I see that my PPA for telepathy-gabble suggests an
upgrade. Description of update: Changes gives me "Failed to detect
distribution", which is an error.
For reference, I'm fairly sure the relevant package (an
Telepathy & Empathy developers are working on API sketches for encrypted

Upstream is definitely considering this issue; developers know it's
