Amarok started to showing this bug some days ago, but only today I had
time to try to fix it. No media applications was able to play sound. The
only thing that worked was killing esd, so everything started working.
Now, according to my logs, the last thing related to xine that was
upgraded was lib

This are the log and configuration file with the xserver-video-sis671
installed. After installing the package, the display turns into two
horizontal 640x400 screens, mirroring each other. Really weird...

Fixed.
I downloaded vino_2.18.1-0ubuntu1_i386.deb, extracted the list of files
with dpkg --contents, put the output in a file and replaced broken
/var/lib/dpkg/info/vino.list file.
If anyone could explain why one broken file crashes the entire package
management system, I would be glad to know. T
Thanks, those actually goes under /var/lib/mldonkey directory.
I don't see any option in Settings to change that. Where can I change
it?

I'm having the same problem, but to any package I need to install or
upgrade. I follow the tips in

that I still have the problem.
