Same to me with composite in kubuntu in 2048x1152. With 1024x768
resolution works fine.

Screen hang during boot with
Sorry for the limited information, when i start my system with kernel 2.6.37-10
after grub my monitor start to flash like out of resolution. Booting with
nomodeset start with max resolution 1280x1024.
The dkms error i think is from a previous virtualbox installation. if a can
