So I probably made a mistake in the hardy backport, I'll have another
look. It would help to know whether the jaunty kernels linked in the
Mar-11 entry work.

This is a new external drive enclosure.
I can easily reproduce this:
Plug in the usb cable and power up the drive. System log shows:

Since this is a new piece of hardware, I can't rule out a hardware
failure. I'll test on other systems as well.
Also, once the error occurs, unplugging and replugging the drive USB
cable isn't enough to have it be recognized again - power to the drive
enclosure must be cycled.

Tim,
It's possible that the package will need updating from upstream since
there is new hardware enablement still taking place from the jaunty
tree. Perhaps we should go ahead and create the netbook branch in
jaunty-lbm and go from there. We can apply the patch before the branch,
so main distro ge
