This persists with 4.13.0-36-generic. Updating to VirtualBox package

Can confirm the absence of the previous hang on a 16.04 with 4.13.0-37
kernel with the fix from the Costa's PPA. Just tested with a live cd
start, no more detailed tests.

My previously reported result was on a Core i5-2520M, some deeper
testing was performed on a Celeron J1900:
Running perfectly on a 4.4.0-116 and switching to 4.13.0-37 runs stable
for about a day now. No problems noticed so far.

Just ran across this bug because of a console-setup upgrade on a chroot-ed
Xenial (installed via debootstrap, exported via nfs for PXE boot, upgrades
always installed via chroot-ing on server). Whole upgrade process hangs at
"Preconfiguring packages ...".

I have to add: the newest update for Bionic (1.178ubuntu2.9) runs
through smoothly, nearly not recognized it.

Today again stumbled over this problem after initramfs-tools had an
upgrade and nvidia dkms driver wanted to be configured. I have to apply
the mentioned fix every time again since Xenial was released. This is
annoying: can some one backport the mentioned fix from 0.122 ???
