apps, and usually the copied text came from other programs.
In my case, I was trying to copy and paste a link from Firefox to GMail
web app, inside a new email.

I had a similar problem on upgrading to 12.04 beta2. The upgrade process
was blocked on "flashplugin-installer: downloading...", but in my case
the download seems that was not started (also if network was available).
CTRL+C was not working. I had to reboot the machine, and then finish
upgrade with

I confirm that the problem is solved renaming .gconf directory (from
terminal mv .gconf gconf-backup), and doing logout and login.
@jrios: there is no need to create another admin user, as your user
itself can move / delete its .gconf directory.

I also have done some tries, and can say that stopping network-manager
does not help, instead the computer shut down correctly if I do: sudo
/etc/init.d/networking stop
So reading many comments it seems a problem related to networking engine
in general.

I had the same issue with Evolution 3.2.1, and solved deleting the file
folders.db inside
~/.local/share/evolution/mail/1295611670.31535.6@cvs28.
So now the folders.db is no more in evolution/mail/imap, but in
evolution/mail/GUID.

BACKSPACE, is that for pressing ALT+LEFT you need to use two hands.

I have the same problem, every shutdown hangs. I tried this before
shutdown and it worked correctly:
- killed nm-applet from System Monitor
- sudo service network-manager stop
- sudo service networking restart
Maybe the only command needed is 2°, stopping the network-manager
service.

If can help, I have this problem and this is my GCONF configuration in
/apps/evolution/addressbook, name = sources, 3° value:
The address book "Personale", that have "system" relative_uri, works
correcty, and I get "Invalid source" opening address book "AbleTech",
with relative_uri 1295625049.3
I reinstalled Ubuntu 11.04 from scratch, and the touchpad now works
correctly. So I think it was some parameter not correctly migrated from
10.10 to 11.04

Same thing here installing Natty beta 1 (destkop 32 bit) on a VirtualBox
virtual machine.
The name I typed not really existed on the network (I had only one PC
connected).
When going to password textbox and typing, the message disappeared and I
was able to go ahead.
