I don't think we changed much upstream for that though pulseaudio or alsa may
have changed and so cause that issue.
The easiest way to workaround that is to use the lts.conf variables to control
these channels.

Hi Steve, I can confirm that for me it's now fixed (sorry, only rebooted
my laptop today).
I now get the plymouth splash correctly with the only remaining issue
being that it gets stuck at the point where it should ask me for my
passphrase (to unlock my /home partition) but that's another bug repo

I'm pretty sure I already reported that issue though probably in some other bug
reports I filed during the few issues I had with Plymouth and mountall.
So here's a new one focusing on that single encryption issue, that should make

To answer Steve's question on #504052, here's the version of cryptsetup,
mountall and plymouth I'm running:

I forgot to ask for that parameter when I filed the initial bug for LXC support.
It'd be appreciated if that one could be turned on too so we have a full LXC
support in Lucid.
Thanks.

Ok, I did some tests, I modified both upstart jobs /etc/init/cryptdisks-* to
record a full shell trace to a log file, then rebooted.
As usual I didn't get any kind of prompt from plymouth but assumed that it was
waiting for the key anyway and so entered it.
Looking at the -udev trace, we can see
