I am using an HP scanjet 3500c with ubuntu 9.10 64bit.
I was tired so the instructions were not clear to my tired little head
but once I figured it out, it worked fine. Thank you.
For those easily confused like myself:
1) goto System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager, search for
SAN

I thought I had it working. It found the scanner when starting xsane
however when I pressed scan it a popup ERROR box displayed "Failed to
start scanner: Invalid argument"

Thanks, I have an epson printer but a HP scanner. What frustrates me is
that it was working with the above but the next time I tried I got the
error "Failed to start scanner: Invalid argument"

Didn't work, tried a few other things. Same problem. I didn't have a
/etc/init.d/sane.d/ directory.

I have to force a quit on xsane after starting it.
I found one thread that said my username should be added to the sane group. I
tried that and it didn't work.

The attached file dump crashes with GIMP. When I try Puma it displays

Uco (ucomesdag) #4 suggestion seems to have fixed the problem for me.
I can now add locations, change preferences, and get updates in both
Google and Yahoo.

See above, although the problem seems to be fixed I can not get Forecast
updates, it says there is no connection available.
