I just installed intrepid development branch again and found that my
sound is working fully with zero configuration. Everything shows up
properly in volume control and i have independent control over
headphones and speakers. It must have started working somewhere between
2.6.27-2 and .27-4 as I bel
I've come up with a non-ideal fix for my problem. I found out that what
is really going on is that ubuntu is mixing up my headphone jack and
speaker outputs.
With "options snd-hda-intel model=auto" set in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base:
When I plug my headphones into the headphone jack, it believes
how would i go about running gdb on compiz while switching to a guest
session? I worked a bit to figure it out but got nowhere.

I updated to the newer kernel (2.6.27) via installing ubuntu 8.10 alpha
4 as the previous post suggested. When loading up Intrepid off of the
live-cd, the speakers were emitting sporadic
fffttt..sfhht.etc noises. Audio files would be barely
heard via the speakers, and the sound seem

Yes, it still crashes. does not ask to submit a bug report anymore

It is only caused when saving a new file, not by saving an edited file
if that helps.
Just another side point: If I try to create a new file called test.php
on the davs server through nautilus ([rt. click]->create document

messes up my gnome-terminal after crash; seems like it switched the

I'm having the same issue. In addition to that, after connecting to a
regular dav:// server, I cannot open any of the files displayed, or
navigate outside of the root folder. Using the "Places" -> "Connect to
Server" menu also gives me issues with ftp, but i can work around that.
