Why is it necessary to avoid fixing this rather than a band-aid
solution?
This used to work just fine under at least FF 48 and slightly newer,
which was not that long ago.

I do not understand why this bug has taken this long to get resolved. At
least one scenario is that FF simply opens the dialogue box giving the
option to choose what software to open the attachment but the "Do this
Automatically for files like this from now on" is selected. How hard is
it to have F
This sounds A LOT like the "Go To Parent Folder" add-on/extension for
older versions of FF. That would be great if you get this to work and
implemented into current FF.
If you can extend it to also work in the Bookmark sidebar, that would be
a boon and truly replicate that aformentioned add-on.

Again, having this work not only in the Library window but also the

What is hard to understand is the following:
- this was never a problem (for me) prior to v57 of FF, as early as v16,
which is only 6 years old, so not sure why this is a 13 yr old bug. Then
again, I was running it on Mac OS X 10.6.8 until then, so is this an OS
dependent issue?
