I have the same Problem here. My system: Intrepid, Samsung ML-1410
Laserprinter, Buffalo LinkStation as Samba-Server
When I delete all my printers (I have only this one) in system-config-
printer 1.0.5 and add one like this:

My solution, until a bugfix will be released:
I copied the printers.conf to printers_ok.conf and made this small
script-file:
sudo cp /etc/cups/printers_ok.conf /etc/cups/printers.conf
sudo /etc/init.d/cups restart
so i just have to run this script before i print.

I have the same problem here and unfortunately got messed up in
workarounds :-(
After I used the archive from Alexey, I got an error of different

Ok, reinstalled everything (libtool, kdevelop, ...) and followed the
workaround again. This time the correct way. But it didn't work for me.
I still get some errors:

Ok, I tried that:

test-page. both printed correctly without error-message as usual after
printing the second page. (it generated a log and a troubleshoot.txt ! I

Seems like I can print exactly one times after 'lpadmin -p GDI-Printer -o

Then for the next job the error-message is "Can't promt for autorization."
The first printing-job is printed normally, produces the following in

But after the first print it is changed back to 'AuthInfoRequired

In my case
Ok, didn't read the thing with 'Could you try instead with: AuthRequired none

Now I tried that one:

And (yes, i know it would be a huge amount of work) there should be some more
explanations on what the preferences mean. I still do not know what this
'Last.fm'-thing is or what I can do with 'ReplayGain'. A short hint would may
be enough to tell the user if he shoul

Ok, I copied my 'GDI-Printer' and called it 'lp'. Then I deleted the old one
and set 'lp' to default.
After printing two single pages from firefox I thought it worked, but the third
page from a pdf-file failed with 'Too many failed attempts.'
So: The "Do not know why it works"-copy-workaround i

Hello!
On my Acer Travelmate 3020 it seems like I have a step-less brightness control
(would guess >150). In fact I have 15 steps as well. And its also out of sync.
Does anybody know where I can set the number of steps manually?

How can I get such detailed information like Eike posted here?

difference is easier to see.
In my example I choose black and deactivated buzz. See the attachment:

Try to delete all gwibber-related entries in your keyring, than restart
gwibber, reauthorize your services. Worked for me.
