Updates from 2006 Aug 1 broke printing entirely on my machine, an old
compaq p3. Printing worked before the updates. I printed something that
morning from firefox, before the updates. After the updates, printing
broken.
Attempts to obtain print subsytem status via the AlaCart
Since I needed printing, as this was my office machine, I backed up all
my data, reloaded the OS from the ubuntu CD. I then applied all of the
updates to bring it up to date and printing works now.

When forwarding a message, regardless, of the configured preferences, or
the selected mode (ie;Message-->Forward as-->Inline from ythe message
menu) the forwarded message is always attached (as an attachmen
SInce the last update to Mozilla Thunderbird, I believe it is version
1.5.08, which became available 2 or 3 days ago (ca 20061120), I cannot
even get the version information. When I try to do -->Help-->About I get

It was afer I shutdown and restarted Firefox that the problem began.
However, based on your question, I shut down the entire system and
restarted it. Now the problem is gone.
