machines all work fine, it's only Hardy that has the issue for me. Also,

I have this same bug, have all the appropriate packages installed, have
deleted my ~/.gstreamer-0.10 directory, and still cannot establish
either audio or video calls with either Empathy or Pidgin. Cheese works,
so the Camera works, but that's about it.
