Two ldap servers with replication, server1 and server2
On a client, in /etc/ldap.conf, configure 2 servers
host server1 server2
Failover works fine. If a server is down, the other server answers
authentication requests.

This might not be the right thread for my comments, although very
closely related.I observe errors appearing in the munin graphing
logs , on Ubuntu 12.10. On a fresh install, without any
customizations. My fix now is to use Ubuntu 13.04.It has a newer
version of munin included.I

- What is the effect if you agree, and provide auth information?
- What is the effect if you don't agree, and don't provide auth info? Will
something not work, if you don't proceed with auth?

Yes, that is the case.
To retest, I launched a brand new instance in AWS. bionic, arm.
Tried to install the ppa and git again. A similar error appeared:

thread saying 3.0-14 contains the solution.
However, the problem continues on 3.0-14.

Also getting a freeze during installation of ubuntu desktop 18.04. As Leandro
wrote: "I'm able to click in continue in language selection, but it freezes on
