I am attaching startup log from my Opensuse 11.1 . I have the same issue
with opensuse also.
Inspecting /boot/System.map-2.6.27.5-2-default
Cannot find map file.
No module symbols loaded - kernel modules not enabled.
Cannot build symbol table - disabling symbol lookups
klogd 1.4.1, log source = k
Today i installed opensuse 11.1 beta5 amd64bit version ( kernel 2.6.27.5 ).
i am facing the same issue in opensuse also.

I am facing this issue when running Ubuntu live CD as well as booting
from HDD.
I think this is a kernel bug.
