Thanks for the tip I tried your PPA, and the kernel works much
better :). I am able to achieve about the same latency than what I got
with ubuntu 8.04 (will test next weekend with firewire).

when I plug my usb drive on the box, it is correctly detected.
I also have a usb hub built-in my LCD monitor, and is I plug the drive

similar proble on my NFORCE2 board. The difference with Ari is that I
had to add:
load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,2 ## Card 0, Device 2
instead (my spdif out is on device 2)

Yesterday, I tried to install Xubuntu feisty fawn on a thinkpad T21. I
had the same problem reported here : X hanged. I had to remove DRI to
solve the problem, like explained here.

I messed with my system, and I reinstalled it today.

Well, I found out that dri was not used. (bad initialization due to bad
settings in xorg.conf)

the computer has no ati graphic card. My xorg driver is "i810".
setting GTK_IM_MODULE to xim or scim-bridge does not fix the issue.
