Hello,
I am french, I use the "Français (variante)" keymap because I like how the keys
are arranged (², ³, œ, etc).
I also am left-handed and use Ctrl-Up and Ctrl-Down to switch desktops. I do so

I would also like to add that Ctrl-PgUp and Ctrl-PgDown, to change tabs

I can confirm the same behavior on Ubuntu GNOME 14.10.
Importing a VPN configuration with the "new" configuration tool does not
work. However, using the "network connections" app works correctly, as
stated by vaiopro.

If it was an expected behaviour, I think Chrome on Windows and Chromium
on Ubuntu 12.04, with the same version number, would have it too.
It seems it only affects Ubuntu 12.10.

I can't reproduce it either, with LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 from Ubuntu 13.04.
I've tried exporting the same ODT file to PDF with the same fonts

I've exported the LModern Type1 font from the Ubuntu "lmodern" package
to the TrueType format (with instructions from
http://www.vromans.org/johan/OOo/oofonts03.html).
When using this TTF export, the "ê" character is correctly exported to
PDF and printed.
