screen does not work. It appears to have been applied successfully but
on logoff the login screen reverts to Gnome default (a blue login

I have run Valgrind again, this time using Human theme (ubuntulooks), to
eliminate the possibility that the problem is caused by a theme. I
actually ran it twice. The first time was with Nautilus already running,
just opening a new window. This test went as expected - it crashed and
Valgrind did it

xsplash is loaded after X, so any resolution problems you have with it
are problems with the way your X is configured. I have an nvidia in my
desktop and xsplash was just fine in Karmic.
However, we're not using xsplash in Lucid by default, so unless you've
done something to explicitly configure

This is an updated rgba/decorations patch for gtk+. This fixes a
crasher which is reproducible in Transmission and probably other apps,
and it removes all the extents and drop-shadow code.
We should consider client-side drop-shadows off the table for Lucid.

Andrea, you need to actually look at GdkColormap or the GdkVisual
directly and determine if it's an RGBA colormap. You can't compare the
return value of gdk_screen_get_default_colormap() and
gdk_screen_get_rgba_colormap(), because they'll be different values even
though they're both RGBA colormaps

it will also do this with partition types, which is annoyingly
timeconsuming. Why would anyone want to format a partition then
immediately reformat it?

if you are not paying attention, you can encue conflicting actions.
Applying them will reformat the partition more than once, either with
two different filetypes if you happened to change your mind and did not
go back, or even with the same filety
with quick actions like labelling, its hardly noticable when applying.
but when formatting a large drive, this is a serious annoyance.

its not really a bug as much as an annoying feature. To reproduce,
choose to format or label the drive more than once. Of course, there may
BE some reason one would want to format a drive twice, but it's not
occurring to me.
