I'm running ubuntu gutsy with an intel 965gm (Lenovo x61 tablet), but
with the newer intel video drivers from hardy (2:2.2.0-1ubuntu1). I
haven't tested it heavily, but pymol doesn't seem to crash X on my
system. Instead, if you move the window, pymol's rendering window (the
3d one) is no longer

and my solution was similar to Antti's. An unconfigured libcap1 package
had prevented dhcp3-common and dhcp3-client from being configured

Started to think this behaviour is by design. It also happens sometimes
(though not always) when logging off. To me it seems that when I log off
i should be presented with the login window, not the locked user

I don't know, I think this bug is a critical security issue. Though
it's fair to say that Linux would be the target of many more viruses
and malware applications if it were as popular as Windows, it would
also rather help if everyone were using an OS where security is built
in from the ground up, a
Does anyone know if this has been fixed in the new release "Hardy
Heron", 8.04 ? I'm wondering whether to try one of the workarounds
already documented, or simply install the beta version of Hardy and see
if it works..

Sometimes when more than one user is logged on and switch user is
pressed the system instead locks the screen. The work around is to login
and then click switch users/log off again and then the face browser is
displayed as it should be.
