A dual-boot (WinXP) machine running Ubuntu 9.10 has the following /etc/fstab
entry:
/dev/disk/by-path/pci-:00:1f.1-scsi-0:0:0:0-part1 /Windows/C ntfs-3g
defaults,locale=en_US.UTF-8 0 2
When mountall(8) tries to invoke fsck.ntfs-3g, there's an error message
stating that
Not only does the config file not exist on my system, neither does the parent
directory (/etc/wifi-radar).
Do I need to create this directory?

The solution for me was to go to Settings->Configure Konqueror->Performance and
uncheck the box "Always try to have one preloaded instance".
After logging out and back in to get kdeinit5 reloaded, I can launch
Konqueror multiple times per sess
I installed KHelp Center to see if that is similarly affected. It's NOT.
It seems to affect only Konqueror.

Try the following experiment: pick a small binary file on your system
where the data and locations are unequivocally known. I recommend
something like /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/BOOT. Since only root can read
these files, you'll need to prefix each od(1) command with sudo or do
