I think I have the same issue, Gutsy's fonts look more blurry than
Feisty's. Changing Smoothing from 'Subpixel (LCDs)' to 'Grayscale' in
the Font Rendering Details makes it better though.

Thanks for the explanation. It's a .zip file; when I extract it, the
contents do get found when I search 'icky'. However the .zip itself
not.. When I rename the .zip to something else the problem does not
occur..

There's not something like 'the panel with the launched programs list',
there is a notable difference between the panel itself and its items. If
you place two panels at the top you can, for example, freely move the
programs list to the bottom panel. What items you place on what panel is
entirely up
My original problem occurred with mp3's. I'll check asap if it occurs
with ogg's as well.

I disagree. Desktop effects, wallpaper, theme and screensaver all change
the look of your desktop, that's why they are grouped into one window.
The screen resolution is a 'hardware' setting that does not change your
desktop's look, only the size.
