I agree that this was a blunder, and probably shouldn't have happened. But keep
in mind, this was in the Proposed Updates repository. These updates aren't
meant to be considered official updates. Proposed Updates is a testing bed to
catch these kind of problems before they hit mainstream.

After spending a day and night downloading the updates for Hardy to Intrepid, a
bunch of programs still fail to install.
One of the things that cause's me grief is that I have to launch a bunch of
programs manually at startup because they don't when there supposed to. Also,

After upgrading to Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex, my wacom graphire 3 pen is acting
flaky. Whenever the tip pushes down (clicks) the mouse pointer randomly jumps
to left or right on the screen. This also disorenitates the tablet area until I

I added the development Compiz PPA to see if that would fix the problem, but it
didn't seem to fix it.
Also, I'm still able to run the fusion-icon that was installed from hardy, so
the program works, it's just the intrepid package.

It seems only older CPU's are affected. Maybe one of the updates forced
the kernel to use new cpu instructions (like SSE2), when it shouldn't.

It's not the video card, because I have an ATI 9600 Pro. Also, it probably
isn't the chipset, because they are from a bunch of different venders. They
only thing I can see consistently is that all the failing computers have a K7

I recently upgraded from Ubuntu 7.10 to 8.04 beta using kernel
