This is a common problem to all browsers so far as I know. This because of the
way that the browser uses the cache the more it has to wade thru the slower it
is. Setting the auto dump to lower MB might help.

Did you save your bookmarks from the previous version of Firefox? You will
only be able to restore if you have a copy of the file saved it is not a cloud
restore like chrome.

It really sounds like you might have a broken flash player. You should
check to see if adobe flash player is installed in Ubuntu. If you don't
have them installed you should get the restricted extras for Ubuntu use
this in the command terminal->

I am not certain that this is a bug. I think the reason that the youtube
videos do not auto play is for security reasons. Have you ever had the youtube
videos play before when you load a page? If this is something that you want

Well maybe it got corrupted some how because I have saved my bookmarks and I
was able to restore them with no problems. So I'm not really able to repeat
this bug and it maybe a problem that is specific to you.

This may be solved by upgrading to a newer version of Firefox because I tried
to recreate your bug and was not able. I have Firefox 19 though so you may want
to just upgrade and it will choose libraoffice.
