No your right... the backtrace is inconclusive because there are no
symbols... I just wanted to add a note stating that I tested this on a
32bit version of hardy and it worked fine... I'll keep looking into

Pressing the button does turn on/off the radio, your right though the

Binary package hint: network-manager
Network Manager 0.6.6-0ubuntu2 causes CPU load to go to 100% and will
not connect to any wireless network. I am able to manually connect to a
network using iwconfig. The problem started when I rebooted after a
general system update for
Confirmed on network-manager 0.6.6-0ubuntu2. A new bug was generated
about the same issue. Bug #204897
