I don't know if edgy already had the issue, but feisty is considerably
faster than gutsy, and I think the issue is about the regression from
feisty to gutsy.
Maybe feisty is abnormally fast comparing with edgy & gutsy?

Now, I have a 1280x1024 TFT screen (previosly, I had a 1024x768 CRT),
the button translations are smaller, and the new "stack" position of the

My Gutsy desktop takes ~34 secs to fully load GNOME. The Feisty machines
in my classroom (I'm a computer science teacher) takes ~12 secs to fully
load GNOME, and these machines are significantly slower than my home
desktop computer. Other Gutsy machines in the High School takes 25-30
secs.

The jockey-gtk application (System->Administration->Hardware Drivers)
appears in English in my Spanish desktop, although it's fully translated
into Spanish in Launchpad.
The problem is that the translations .mo file has a wrong filename.
At the same time, the /usr/share/applications/jockey-gtk.desktop file is
not translated into Spanish, neither, so the 'Hardware Drivers' menu
entry appears in English, too, instead of Spanish. I think it's a
related problem.

24-hour format is absolutely much more used than AM/PM format in Spain.
24-hour format is the default format upstream, and so in the previous
Ubuntu releases until Hardy. See bug 202611.

The problem is fixed now! Jockey-gtk now appears in Spanish... Although
I think there's something wrong now:
Now there're two .mo files: jokey.mo and jockey.mo:
