oblem like this i will check first next time .
The sonypi messages is a bit strange as wel sonypi as sony_laptop module
are loaded according to lsmod, somewhere up in the dmesg are some
sony_laptop lines ,il have a look at it later. If i run in to troubles
il first give 8.10 a try

Adding 2 quirks to pm-utils:
1) declare acx module to be unloaded
2) add script /etc/pm/sleep.d/11IfUpDown
to unload/reload my net interfaces (I think it is a side effect of removing

I am not quite sure if this belongs here, but if you came here because you
experienced the same bug and need to run QGis nonetheless: A workaround is to
upgrade to nightly builds of QGis.

I have mouse M505 (almost same) but for this bug I think it is the
software related to the Unifying dongle which has problem.
This is a regression because I never had such trouble with previous
ubuntu release.

I confirm I have exactly same symptoms.
I confirm also that patch is working for me.
in addition, the file is distributed inside gnome-applet-data.
The applet.pyc is not part of the package. I am not sure, but it may be
generated during package install ??
