Recently the update manager on Feisty updated my libdvdcss2 to version 1.2.9-2
and this instantly broke my DVD playback.* Totem and VLC both say they cannot
access the DVD anymore (worked fine before that update).

Sorry - was afraid that this would happen. But is there a place to
submit a bug on libdvdcss2? Is that owned by the VLC people?

I'll just add one more thing - the script to install it is in the official
disty at
/usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/install-css.sh
and that's what I used. And the official update-manager broke it - so it seems
like there should be *somewhere* at ubuntu to report it so it gets fixed?
