Same thing happened to me, I was running Jaunty with Grub 2. Got an
error with memtest while installing upgrade and a few errors at the very

When I trasfert some or a file by dolphin to an another computer with
sftp, the transfert is very slow and that for example 1 big file .zip by
dolphin is ~7-8MB/s and by scp is 30-40MB/s..

I am not sure that is nvidia drivers, because the same bug affected me
when I had a ati graphic card
