After I killed the unresponsive konqueror, nspluginviewer is left
behind. top shows:

This seems to be fixed in linux-image-2.6.22-8-generic 2.6.22-8.16.
Today I tried updating clamv, and again it would cause the same error. I
then upgraded to linux-image-2.6.22-8-generic, rebooted and after that I
was able to install/upgrade clamav.

I installed feisty beta (from the alternate install cd), and was stuck in a
720x400 resolution in X.
I then removed the two lines:
HorizSync 28-36
VertRefresh 43-60
After that I got the correct 1024x768 resolution.

I recently upgraded to linux-image-2.6.24. Along with that I had to upgrade the
restricted modules and nvidia-glx.
Now, X11 works fine, but I cannot switch back to (even a non-framebuffer)
console. I get flashing lines, and basically a black screen. Switching back to
X11 fr
I found that using "nv" in xorg.conf makes the problem go away, thus
it's related to the proprietary nvidia driver.
