FWIW I also get that message when I run Lucid in VirtualBox, but there's
no problem here. The system boots fine and GDM starts without problems.
I investigated it a little bit and the message is coming from plymouth.
Removed plymouth-label and the message is gone. But like I said there's
no problem
The patch has caused a regression and has broken the installer.

Yes this is a bug in the radeon driver. I filed a bug report upstream
about a month ago. But no action taken so far, seems the devs are too
busy with kms these days.

Anyway for me this bug only appears if I connect my monitor to the DVI-
1output
Patch fixes label rendering with MapsGL, but breaks GL output with
mplayer (mplayer -vo gl ..)
