Well, I think I've been wrong. Recently, I noticed that the problem was also
similar under Windows, and from this perspective, I bought a new access point
(D-Link DIR-615, couldn't find anything else that supports 802.1X and RADIUS
available last saturday afternoon).

I think I solved the issue. In my /etc/freeradius/radiusd.conf, I
changed the daily counter.
Previously, there was :

Debian's svn packaging. I disabled all debian-specific patches
(debian/patches), and installed it after having created the jaunty

I've tried the proposed patch, It works for me.
But I'm experiencing a strange behavior. At first connection attempt, it
asks me to configure the wireless connection. If I cancel this, and I
click on NetworkManager Applet to select the same Wireless network, then
it connects correctly, without ask
I got it working.
How ?
Just boot, go into suspend-to-ram (not disk), and then wake up !
This way, I got brightness buttons working. Seems it doesn't afect the others,
but it might be a good clue ...

Yes, as much as I can tell, it started after the upgrade. I did share a
link to RedHat bugzilla that describe the exact same issue, documented
to start with 4.18, provides a patch that has been confirmed on the very
same laptop that I use: I don't see the point of testing mainline 4.19.
