Its possible using 0.6 to set my device as /dev/rfcomm0, but I have
upgraded to 0.7 because it supposedly supports detection of the modem
connected status. But 0.7 does not let me set up my device.

I have hacked network-manager to check every second whether any
interface is up or not, besides the loopback interface. It worked
perfectly for my ppp connection. Both firefox and pidgin starts up with
the proper state, and even get notified when my ppp connection dies.
Comments welcomed.

I second what kenden reported. tuxguitar-jsa is just 81.9kb on jaunty,
it should be made a dependency for tuxguitar. I was lucky that I
stumbled across this bug report while googling before I follow the
modprobe snd_seq && aoss tuxguitar suggestion from other sites for the
same problem!

Changes to the previous patch:
- the function nm_device_other_update_ppp is changed to
nm_device_update_unmanaged and defined in the header file
- now it monitors all unmanaged devices instead of just ppp devices
- now it checks whether the unmanaged device have an IP address before
signaling as
Sorry for two patches in quick succession. After some thought and
testing, this is a better patch.

[MASTER] [WORKAROUND] "Offline Mode" feature fails to detect proper online
Here you go:
1. its a quilt patch
2. using libnl (using existing structures from nm-netlink-monitor.c)
3. minimal changes
4. checks for POINTOPOINT in the flags (this can be easily removed, but I guess
most of us have problems with ppp devices)
5. only handle unmanaged devices
6. utilize the mode
Public bug reported:
On my PPP connection, sometimes gwget will give me "Error: Unknown
error" under the "State". After some debugging, I realized that it is
because wget sometimes will echo the "Resolving ftp.gnu.org..." first,
and then, on a second line, echo out the ip address that was resolved

Same problem for me, fresh install of Lucid, went thru the process of Facebook
login and authorization, clicking on "Add" does not do anything, the console
(which I started gwibber with) gives this:
Saving...
Could not identify preference: username
Could not identify preference: session_key
Trace
How it looked like in my gwibber, note that my embedded Facebook comes
up in Malay (local language over here), not English, wonder if that have
anything to do with gwibber not getting my username. I have no idea how
to change it to use English.

tiger99, try removing your ~/.vmc2, it worked for me.
After I did the kernel upgrade, vmc always either quits automatically,
or nothing happens when I click "Connect", it took me a long while to
realize its configuration problem. After I removed .vmc2, and
reconfigure the APN, I am using it now. :
Thanks!
