I can confirm this bug on a L350D-11S: When trying to suspend the screen
goes dark but not off, the LED indicator also shows that the laptop is
not in suspend mode. If moving the mouse or pressing a key you can see
an empty black screen with a blinking cursor. No input works, only a
poweroff helps.
What is strange is that several reporters do not have a SB600/700/800
southbridge (including the initial reporter who has an Intel P45
chipset). So it seems not to be related to the kernel problem which was
linked above, or at least it can't be explained by this kernel problem
only.

I have a hint about this issue. gnome-system-monitor is crashing only
when opening as user the "Filesystems" tab. Change the following key in
gconf and you'll be able to use at least the other tabs:
/apps/procman/current_tab. It is set to 3 per default (the "Filesystems"
tab). Change it to some val

I've found the second link, too, and wondered what happened, but I
couldn't find anything about the new driver in Synaptics and activating

Not an issue in Karmic any more on my L350D-11S. But there is another
problem concerning the sleep mode: after waking up the screen brightness
is reduced (the brightness applet shows that the brightness is on
maximum; if you reduce it a bit and increase it to the maximum again,
the full brightness

think, that it occurs every wake up, not only the first one, but I'm not
sure.

Please run Shutter from command line and attach the log output. Also, do
you use the Xorg session? Shutter doesn't support Wayland,
unfortunately.

Jeremy, I see, looks, like a PPA for Shutter and its dependencies is a
better solution. It has been dropped to AUR (the equivalent of a
centralized PPA) in Arch over a year ago. If somebody feels like
stepping up for this task, let me know! Can't do this myself since I
have no experience with .deb

years ago. It looks like I am the only one who tries to fix it up at
least a little bit (mostly by just applying patches which other people
submitted, because I don't even know perl). A port to GTK3 is completely
out of scope for
