I recently update from 8.04LTS up to date to the new 10.04LTS.
Same problem for me when rebooting after doing a grub update.

unfortunately, I don't use that scanner anymore as I got a new one some month
ago and also switched to Debian.
Anyway, I remember that one day, I removed a hidden directory under my home
directory (~/.sane I think) where some configuration datas for my scanner were
located.

thanks to Stephan Bader).
The issue occur on box A, I'm connected to it from another pc via ssh (box B)
to run lsinput and input_events tools.
lsinput only shows that the keyboard is disconnected then reconnected but

I uninstalled and reinstalled all X11 xorg packages. It din't fix anything.
Today I deinstalled the xinit package and fglrx then reinstalled xinit and the
ATI package.
To try to debug, I launched xinit via strace and I was able to see that my user
files .Xauthority .Xauthority-c .Xauthority-l wer

My initial trouble is now resolved but this message is still displayed into
/var/log/plymouth-debug.log thought, all seems to be fine with fglrx and there
no problem whilt gaming.

Very strange, I just found a directory that was setted 750 as mode, changed it
to 755 : the bug disapear.
To confirm, I got back the dir mode to 750, the bug doesn't occur anymore.
In doubt, I leave it setted to 755 as it shouldn't hurt but I do not understand
what does the trick.

Thanks for your reply Mario, but if you read attentively my bug description,
all inboxes and folders were compacted (even junk mail folders and bin) and the
trouble was still present.
I finally fixed it creating a new profile and copy in all my personnal
parameters files (sqlite, dbs, json files
This issue is still alive with ubuntu 10.04 and 11.04 for a Canon EOS 1000D
I just had to uninstall rhythmbox and gphoto2 works well now.

I boot my machine with "normal" mode.

For some time I have a keyboard issue at boot. It is relatively close to what

For some time, I can't delete any message or move it to another place

In my case, I installed the 10.8 catalyst driver before. It didn't cause any
