self-compiled version for gtkada since then where i removed gdialog from the
build (At least I don't use it). I looked into what you suggested, but it seems
that gdialog_ada provides a very small subset of what zenity provides

* Add in drm_agp_memory-2.6.31.patch to enable 2.6.31 support

- dpkg --configure -a keeps on running forever

My 2 cents:
The first upgrade gave me a new login screen and I stayed logged in like
everybody else.
Now for the second one... I don't think It killed the session but simply logged
out. At least aptitude that was running in yakuake didn't get killed until all
updates were processed and firefox
Tried to reproduce it on my Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M and got this:
Mplayer: works fine
VLC: works fine
Totem: broken
Mplayer: now also broken
VLC: now also broken

What kernel and intel driver are you using? KMS has been enabled by
default since 2.6.30-10 in karmic. Also note that the karmic intel video
driver doesn't support the XAA/EXA acceleration methods any more and
uses UXA.
