Thanks for your replies. I'm running Ubuntu rather than Kubuntu, and the
GNOME and KDE cursor themes are set independently. Is there a way of
changing the KDE cursor theme without having to install lots of KDE
packages? Changing the GNOME cursor theme has no effect.

Whenever evince is running, it "takes over" my media keys. When I press
the "Play/Pause" button on my keyboard, evince goes fullscreen. What

I quietly fixed that typo this morning. The fix had been hanging around
in my local copy for a few days.
If you like, you can create a diff for one bug, use the 'svn revert
path/to/file.xml' command, fix the other issue, create a diff for that
and then attach each to their respective bug reports.
