I think its strange this bug has low prio because it means I cant use
gstreamer to watch recorded TV-shows AT ALL, in my case recorded by
mythbuntu. Of course there is the standard work around to use mplayer /
vlc...
It also means I cant edit recorded files using Pitivi, default video
tool in luci

I just want to confirm comment #94 of Vladimir Kononov (voldemark).
After fsck on my disk drives (/ and /home) on a quite long time running
(+1year) desktop install of debian mint on an old laptop the issue of
high harddisk load seems to be minimized and system runs much more
smoothly now.

in fustration I changed to tty1 Ctrl +Alt F1
then:
$ sudo stop kdm
$ rm -rf ~/.kde ~/.kderc /var/tmp/kdecache-
$ sudo start kdm
I lost all my customizaitons (~2 days of work), but at least now KDE is
working again. The error:

I cant open any application right now - getting fustrated.
Fully updated Kubuntu 12.04 64-bit. It worked quite well yesterday

want to use kde-apps (kate, kdevelop, konquoror, ...) and they run OK, but also
in this setting I get he above message from following apps:

using xterm has the expected performance (as good as it gets)
using konsole: performance slow, sluggish, hanging
could it be some kind of font issue, which in the end brings kwin down?

well I retried to install ubuntu 10.04.1 (hoping the intel issues were

oh, yeah, tried the ForceEnablePipeA-quirck (see bug #138256) but that
also did not resolve the problem
I tried to revert the ppa-changes, but failed and I am now not able to
get ubuntu 10.04.1 running at all...
