On Ubuntu just kill power manager and it should change only by one
steps, but some devices do not support changing brightness without gpm.
Easiest fix is just to add some checking to gpm if kernel already
changed brightness or not. Gnome guys seem not keen in fixing it.

Hi, this is quite easy to get when you use touchpad.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch slow app, like USC, and whili it is launching drag icon, or move
launcher icons down or up
2. Icon will froze
3. By dragging icons in launcher, you can unfroze icon

Hmm, actually, maybe you are right, that closing is not nice middle
click (can cause problems). But middle click works for apps, whose have
also quicklist (try middle click on rhythmbox, thunderbird, ...)

Okay, can you point out some app, which does not have quicklist new
window option and has working middle click? And if middle click will
close app, then for all, as I said, there will also be problems with
multiple instances or when user clicks randomly.
