I was converting a handful of RAW files to JPEGs. Shortly after I was
done, F-Spot crashed. After that, I restarted F-Spot, and it hangs.

This bug has resurfaced for me (but in a different form, perhaps?). I do
not see any org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.MediaKeys events in my D-Bus
connection, and my xmodmap is configured exactly as in Hardy.

I have the media keys that I *specified* in xmod
I got the same thing. After killing off the window using the panel "kill
an unresponsive application" applet, I ran an update in the terminal,
and ldconfig appeared to complete successfully.

Having just deleted about 100 hours of work because of problem a) in the
previous poster's comment, I have to agree, the current version of Gnome
commander is VERY dangerous. I would go as far as suggesting that the
current version (1.2.5) be removed from the Ubuntu repositories. I have

Ah, it looks like this bug (if it is one, which I guess it probably
isn't) would actually be in the Gnome system defaults, as I've just
changed the shortcuts set up in Gnome from the defaults (0xa2 for play,
0xa4 for stop, 0x90 for prev, 0x99 for next) to the various XF86Audio*

I found that I could boot the computer reliably if I turned off ACPI
(acpi=off) in the boot string, unreliably if I set acpi=noirq. I now
can boot the computer (apparently) reliably with virtualization disabled
in the BIOS.
