I just hit that bug and I might be wrong but I think the bug is critial since
it prevent any precise cloud image to have
an IP address at boot time on OpenStack for example since like you said
--libvirt_use_virtio_for_bridges is enabled
by default in precise.

I think I have this bug too on 14.10 and it makes the boot process to hang.
So I have to boot in single user mode and launch networking and then resume to
get to the desktop.
I don't have any nvidia driver though.

An idea for this would be to modify evolution-indicator to make it add a
nodification
for alarms and not just emails. I'll try to findout if the alarms are
accessible in evolution API's or what
would be the way to "clear" the notifications in the indicator.

Got the same error this morning.
Note that it happens after an apt-get dist-upgrade with an update of mesa +
reboot
Same error this morning when I plugged an external monitor:

I realise it was because I had removed update-notifier (since I'm doing my
update/upgrade from the command line)
Maybe we could add update-notifier as a gnome-session dependency.
