after configuring a server as a nis server: in /var/yp/Makefile the
default of MERGE_PASSWD (line 47) is set to false. IMO this should be
true if the system uses shadow passwords, which is the default in ubuntu
linux iirc. The same applies to MERGE_GR
You are perfectly right, it was a misconfiguration on our site; I've
just tested it. Sorry for the noise. I hereby withdraw the issue.

When switch to XML mode and edit an xml file which has german umlauts (ä
for example) in an attribute name, the attribute gets highlighted as
"incorrect" or so it seems. Example:
I use gedit in ubuntu 9.04, which is 2.26.1.

I have installed apport, but not firefox. It seems that apport tries to
open firefox, but fails (of course). I have installed epiphany-browser.
This might be interesting:

I have installed Ubuntu 11.04 natty and experience a similar problem.
Instead of having only two letters (from the screenshot) highlighted,
there are now all letters in a word with umlauts (üöä) highlighted as
incorrect. Still this is clearly a bug.
