Yubikey input is wrongly read after precise to quantal upgrade

During the upgrade the machine froze and it had to be manually rebooted.
After the reboot sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade was run
though to make sure the packages are upto date.
I tried to sudo apt-get install apport, apport-gtk, python-apport and

So I did a fresh quantal install and then (after installing kvm and
virtual machine manager and then adding user to the libvirtd group) .
The issue was present and when i checked getfacl /dev/kvm it had

Then after the reboot i checked getfacl again it had group:rw-
When i tried booting t
Reboot did solve the issue on both machines. ( In one of them, which had
a troublesome upgrade I had to remove virtual box as well, but I am not
sure if that was really needed)

suggested there should be 'Pause syncing' menu item. But today I learnt from
gatox that it was not correct and the spec was updated today.
