selecting the default kernel in grub2, the screen goes black and scroll

This works again after todays update. Last time I updated before that
was Jun 26. There were some updates for devicekit. Could have been that.

7.04 to 7.10, or maybe between 7.10 and 8.04. I have since installed a
fresh 7.10. The bug disappeared and I have probably no way of recreating

This started after an upgrade sometime between yesterday and the day
