The setup process fails to merge the new kernel as a menu item for grub
when menu.lst has been edited manually. It is not difficult to fix
manually afterwards, and will probably not affect users who cannot fix
it - but it would be elegant if it just worked automatically, and it is

Hi Christopher,
I can confirm that upgrading the bios to A15 improves the situation a
lot.
Two finger scrolling is now usable, and the cursor no longer jumps
around when placing a second finger on the touchpad as described in the
original bug report.
I think that this bug can be closed.
Christopher,
Even after updating the bios to A15 (using Ubuntu kernel 3.19), the
driver still looses sync in bursts about once per 1000-2000 seconds on
my machine.

any random clicking on things in the single work day the compu
Did not disect to the bottom - released version 3.16.0-28 corrects the
problem, so I assume that someone beat me to it.
Fixed and verified over the last few days by switching back and forth
between -25 and -28. Wifi keeps dropping in -25, and stays stable
overnight in -28.

I have set up the git tree and successfully compiled and installed a few
vanilla kernels. However, it seems that even the vanilla 3.16 also works

I have tried to find the correspondence between the van
Thanks. I would still like to point out that the list

up to date regarding kernel version 3.16-ubuntu, and that updating it
could have saved some compilation hours in this case.
However, Vanilla 3.15 fails with the same error

The frequency of the problem has dropped considerably after moving to a
less congested channel, but it still happens - I am stationary at about

unusual, though - I now experience two or three drop-outs per day,

The neighborhood is very crowded in the 2.4 GHz band.
