Hardy still opposes sound problems, can't try on intrepid since Ubuntu
is my main os, and I don't change to the next one untill the stable
comes out (30/10). All I can find out about my hardware in linux is that
i use a realtek sound card, configuration doesn't matter (still gives
the same erro
I probably have , more or less, related issues:
1. Sound volume is to low. I run a dual-boot system in Windows XP and
sound is ok there, so don't play me the "the maximum level is the
maximum you can get out of your sound card"-card, because it's simply
not true.
2. I am unable to change the soun
I do still not know if the problem I had is related to the problem that
is described here, but I can supply you with a load of info from the
last few hours. To answer your questions:
The problem still exists in the newest version of ubuntu (intrepid ibex). Thus
it is not solved.
My sound hardware
After some hours of trying, I managed to get to an very nasty work-
around for people not needing mysql, but needing apt-get to work. In my
apt-get, it hung over the error as the first package, and just wouldn't
continue. I couldn't find a way to disable it, but removed mysql with:
sudo dpkg --for
The bug has not been of relevance anymore. I lately changed of
computer and thus I can't replicate the circumstances anymore.
