The problem seems to be related to imagemagick, which has a segfault
upon joining jpgs into pdf.

The bug refers to the version of ImageMagick in Karmic (not in Lucid).
The fact that it works in Lucid is irrelevant.
I tried several image files, with the same result. Using the same
command with GraphicsMagick works just fine.

In xmgrace a new dataset can be created from en external text editor. To
do so, the text editor is accessed through Edit->In Text Editor, or
Create New->in text editor. Two different behaviors are observed though,
depending if xmgrace is launched th

grace, the command:
sensible-editor
is issued. If grace itself was launched through the terminal, nano opens
fine. However, when grace was opened through the GNOME menu, nothing

Simple scan is a very useful and intuitive utility. However it lacks the
ability to perform multipage scanning, which is nowadays possible with
many all-in-one printers.
Adding a multipage scanning would make this application much more

An update on this bug. Using OO.org 3.2.1 in Maverick.
I attached two files, one ("test_inkscape.svg") created with Inkscape
and another ("test_oo-draw.svg") which was the same as the previous,
opened with OO.org draw and re-exported as svg. The new svg can be
opened with Inkscape and Firefox just

This is a libva issue, not vlc. You can get a similar error by simply
typing:
vainfo
In my case (maverick release, Libva 1.0.1-3, vdpau-va-driver 0.6.3-1) I
get a segmentation fault:
Blocked: call to setenv("_PX_CONFIG_ORDER", "", 1)
libva: libva version 0.31.1

Just for clarification, the bug wasn't fixed in debian6. Rather, it was
closed, as debian6 has been removed from the main repos (in Debian and
Ubuntu).

Still having this issue and the suggested workaround doesn't seem to
work. However it works if I add the line:
/var/lib/named/etc/bind/* r,
to the file /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.named

Actually there is another way. For some reason unknown reason, a
previous installation of bind installed a folder "named" in /var/lib
that somehow was creating problems. Uninstalling bind9, removing the
/usr/lib/named folder and reinstalling bind9 worked just fine. Therefore
please disregard my pre
